Our Team

With 25 years of experience as a CSMLS registered Medical Laboratory Technologist, Tanya has extensive expertise in virology. Currently serving as the Medical Laboratory Technical Coordinator at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC, Tanya supervises Medical Lab Technologists and Medical Lab Assistants, ensuring high standards of technical work and quality control. Tanya is also a Program Head and Program Instructor at a Private college, teaching and developing curriculum to meet both provincial and national standards.
Tanya's work includes supervising staff, writing SOPs, validating new testing, and teaching. Tanya has managed various molecular platforms, sequencing and played a pivotal role in troubleshooting and maintaining laboratory instruments. Tanya has experience working on accreditation in both hospital and educational settings.
Graduating with honors from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Tanya earned several awards, including the BC Society of Medical Laboratory Technology Award for Best Overall Student. Tanya’s education includes certifications in Laboratory Quality Management from UBC and Instructor Development courses from the National Association of Career Colleges.
Tanya has received multiple awards, such as the AACC Pacific Northwest Travel Grant for attending the 2022 AACC National Conference. Recognized for technical competence and communication skills, Tanya's diverse experience and commitment to excellence make them a leader and educator in the field.
